Rock Candy input is recognized as Joy 13. Regular Xbox 360 controller is recognized as UP. Also oddly enough for the Rock Candy controller the Start and Select inputs appear to be triggering in game when pressing the Left Thumbstick in (triggers Select) and Pressing the Right Thumbstick in (triggers Start). If your 3rd party Wired Xbox controller is not being fully detected by windows and you have tried the drivers etc. And still no working result. Then the following may help. 1: * Download the Microsoft Xbox Accessories Driver from Microsoft. I'm using a blue rock candy Xbox 360 controller which is a totally different controller. My old controller was an afterglow Xbox360 controller. I looked and when I unplugged and plugged my new controller back in, this new driver pops up and it says 'Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)'.

As the driver is open source, it is also possible to see an example of how to communicate with the driver directly, to control the LEDs as well as bypass the Force Feedback functionality for direct rumble motor control.
Third party controllers should also be supported, but these must be added manually to the driver's list of supported devices. Currently this includes the official controller and the DOA4 stick controller.
What do you need to know about free software?
Existing instructions for using a Rock Candy Xbox 360 wired controller on Windows seem to refer only to Windows 7/8. Specifically, they suggest downloading and installing Xbox 360 Accessories Software, which is only available for 32-bit Windows 7, before modifying an .inf file.
Do I follow the same instructions on Windows 10, or something else?

Although the manufacturer does not officially support Windows PC, you do not need to follow any special instructions on Windows 10.
Simply plug the Rock Candy controller into your USB port. The first time you do this, Windows 10 will detect and configure it automatically. Every time thereafter, it will simply be detected and ready to use.
